GOD'S WORD: MULTI-CULTURAL MINISTRY

Here is a word study for you that I believe points to God's desire for "MULTI-CULTURAL" Ministry. RM is about 60% black, 5% Hispanic, and 35% white (some of us, such as myself, do not know where we fit in the gamut <grin>). When I did this word-study I could not help but be more excited about the montage I see God putting together at RM.

In Ephesians 3:10 the Apostle Paul writes, “His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms” (NIV).

That phrase “manifold wisdom of God” is very important.

"Manifold" (Strong's NT:4182) in its original Greek form, literally is defined as “many-colored.”

What about the “wisdom of God”? In 1 Corinthians 1:24 the Apostle Paul declares that “Christ” is the “power of God and the ‘wisdom’ of God.” In Colossians 1:27 we are also told that the mystery of God is “Christ in you the hope of glory.” That “you” is a plural pronoun in the Greek text and can actually be rendered as “you all” (source: Corporate Anointing by Dr. Kelley Varna, p.6).

To wrap all this up, the “manifold wisdom of God” can be interpreted as “the multi-colored, anointed people of God.”

I believe that God is wanting to raise up Mega-Ministries with Mega-Vision to impact their communities in a Mega-Way. I am persuaded that will come through “the multi-colored, anointed people of God” coming TOGETHER in places like Restoration Ministries. As a song says, "It ain't a black thing. It ain't a white thing. It ain't a colored thing. It's a kingdom thing!"

The amazing thing is that we didn't set out to have a multi-cultural ministry, but now that God has put it together I am seeing a lot of awesome passages in the word that direct us toward such things. I don't think God intended for there to be white churches, black churches, or Hispanic churches! I think God has His Church... period. His church should be a tapestry of many inner-woven colors producing a picture of humanity that has laid aside all prejudices and found our one true passion is to please Him -- Jesus Christ -- the One Who loved us and gave Himself for us!
