THE POWER OF THE WOMAN

The Creation of Woman:

Gen 2:18, KJV, "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."

Gen 2:18, NIV, "The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

When God began His work on the earth in Genesis 1 everything He made received this eternal seal of approval: “And God saw that it was good” – Genesis 1:4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25. And when He had finished the scripture shows God looking at everything and saw that it was “very good” (Genesis 1:31).

THE FIRST THING GOD SAW THAT HE DID NOT LIKE WAS LONELINESS IN THE LIFE OF ADAM.

Pastor Tony Miller once made the comment that Samson could slay 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey, but the loneliness of an empty room overwhelmed him to the point that he placed his head right into Delilah’s lap.

Genesis 2:21-24, KJV
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

BONES: Symbolic of “structure”. Non-movable foundation that holds all the other together.

FLESH: Symbolic of the sensitive area of life that is typically influenced by the surroundings. The importance of this is in the fact that there are times you won’t FEEL like you love your spouse. There will be times that you feel like you could eat them up. Feelings fluctuate with the atmosphere. BUT, there are always the BONES that hold the relationship together.

Marriage is not an emotional relationship. If marriages are formed just out of emotional, gooey, lovey-dovey, feelings then they won’t last.

When a couple loves each other “to the bone” then their marriage will survive anything.

HELP MEET made for Adam

Note the terminology used in the scripture to describe the woman. I have taken the liberty to give these meanings from the original Hebrew.

“HELP MEET” (Note: this is not help MEAT; since some men think females are nothing but a piece of meat.)

Help: Strong’s #5828 – “aid”.

From the root word #5826 – “to surround, protector, or aid.”

Meet: Strong’s #5048 – “a front, counterpart”

From the root word #5046 – “To tell, announce, to expound.”

A literal translation of what God said He would make for Adam can be read as thus: “I will make someone who can surround Adam, come to his aid, protect him in his weaknesses and she will speak into him… expounding on the things he needs to hear.”

WOMEN MAY BE THE WEAKER SEX PHYSICALLY, BUT THEY ARE THE STRONGER SEX RELATIONALLY!

Women were made for relationship!

Note: God made the woman from Adam’s side. Not from his head area to be superior. Not from his feet to be inferior. She was made from his side to stand equal.

1 Corinthians 11:8-12, NIV
8         For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;
9         neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.
10 For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.
11        In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.
12                For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

From the beginning, Man has struggled with this relational aspect of woman.

Gen 3:1-7, KJV

1    Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, ea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2    And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3    But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4    And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5    For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6    And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7    And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

If Adam would have been ‘TALKING’ to his wife then Satan would have had no room to work!

Adam failed to utilize His wife’s God-given purpose.

Where was Adam while all this was going on? Right there… non-communicative!

Eve bit into this fruit because she wanted it to make her “somebody” wise. Adam was failing at building his wife up in her purpose. If he had been fulfilling his task as her husband should would have said to the serpent, “Sorry, I don’t need to feel important by being like God. I am woman… and I am happy where I am in fulfilling my created purpose.”
