David the shepherd boy told king Saul of how he was tending his father's sheep and a lion came out and attacked the flock. The lion made off with a helpless sheep. David grabbed his weapons, hit the lion and delivered the sheep. The lion turned on David and David killed him. There is an important principle to be found here. David saw an evident need and though he didn't have a degree in "lion-killing" his awareness of the need drove him with a passion to do something. Restoration Ministries has a mandate to reach outside of the four imposed walls of traditional "churchianity" (which has little to do with true Christianity). The motto of this ministry is "Feel the need? Fill the need!" If we see a need in the lives of mankind around us then we, as the people of God, should be moved with compassion to "FILL THE NEED!" If we make ourselves available to "FILL THE NEED" then God will make supernatural provision for us to minister. Restoration Ministries is targeting strategic areas in the greater Charleston area in which we "invade" with love, compassion, genuine concern, food, and other provisions needed by the families in those areas. Our second "FILL THE NEED" ministry took place on November 4, 2000 at the Pleasant Arms Apartments in Mt. Pleasant, SC. We fed numerous families a free lunch, gave away a truck load of diapers, gave gift bags and helium-filled balloons to all the kids, and played games. Our short-term plans are to build relationships, broaden our circle of influence, implement new and fresh areas of ministry, and demonstrate the love of Christ by meeting the needs of those we minister to. Our long-term goal is to deepen these new relationships, instigate lifestyle evangelism, lead our new friends into relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple, and assimilate them into the ministry through Restoration Ministries. Here are some of the pictures from our latest "FILL THE NEED."
